![]() Wine of the Week | Barco del Corneta 2022 [White] 100% verdejo organically grown in the Cantarranas vineyard, La Seca. The 5.5 hectare plot, planted in 2008 on rocky/sandy soils is producing excellent grapes despite it's youngish age. After a short cold fernemtation, the grapes are crushed with stems, fermented in 300 liters French oak barrels, finally resting on the fine lees for 9 months. Nice amber color, scents of fresh tree fruit with a hint of orange rind and gentle oaky spice. The wine's namesake, Barco del Corneta, is an adjoining pine forest. It's bottled under the Vino de la Tierra de Castilla Denomination.
