Wine of the Week

P.G. Fino NV [Fortified]
Producer: Bodegas Aragón
Region: DO Montilla-Moriles

It's been a while since a "fino" has appeared on the tasting table. This is an excellent example of a fino-style wine from the Montilla-Moriles denomination in the province of Córdoba. A pleasure to drink chilled on its own, with shellfish or even spicy asian fare.
[In the US it's sold under the "Patricia" label.]

Clean pale straw color with an intriguing "sherry" nose: flowery & nutty, showing the classic "flor" aromas of the fino biological ageing process. On the palate it's crisp, fresh and delightfully complex, with a long, pleasantly bitterish finish.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
