Palacio de Fefiñanes Albariño 2006 [White]
Producer: Palacio de Fefiñanes
Region: DO RÍas Baixas

A longtime personal favorite, this Albariño is a genuine treat. 2006 was a difficult (hot & dry) vintage in the region and many wines have suffered the consequences with overripe fruit, short on acidity. This is not the case with Fefiñanes which has great balance and perfectly ripe fruit. Great with oysters or shellfish.

Clean bright pale straw color with a greenish tint. The nose is full of luscious fruit (apricot & mango), citrus (lime) along with a host of background scents: herbs (tarragon), dry grass and fresh flowers. The palate mirrors the nose (fruit & herbs), full of flavor with a rich mouthfeel, fresh citrusy acidity and superb length. Excellent.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
