Wine of the Week

Elias Mora 2003 [Red]
Producer: Dos Victorias
Region: DO Toro

Dos Victorias has shown itself to be reliable producer, vintage after vintage. This an excellent example of a modern Toro wine with the tannins and power typical of the region's Tinta de Toro grape, but with more polish and class than most. A good match for a nice broiled steak.

Deep dark cherry red color. Well defined aromas with a nice mix of toasty oak and dark berry fruit. Meaty and full bodied, fresh acidity on the palate, with ripe berry fruit, good structure, and potent, but polished tannins on the finish. Very good, fine value.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
