Waltraud
Wine of the Week

Waltraud Riesling 2005 [White]
Producer: Miguel Torres
Region: DO Penedés

Miguel Torres makes a huge amount of wine, yet continues to be one of the country's most reliable producers year after year. Not many rieslings are produced here, and most are not that interesting; however, this is a wine worth looking for. Good on it's own, and a good match for spicy oriental dishes. Very good.

Nice golden yellow color, clean and bright. Well defined aromas of well ripened apricot/peach, lemon and a hint of stone/minerals. On the palate it's rich and fresh with crisp lemony acidity, and an ample spectrum of ripe fruit flavors. Excellent length, full of flavor.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
