Wine of the Week

Logos Selección 2017 [Red]
Producer: Hacienda Logos
Region: DO Navarra

40% cabernet sauvignon, 30% garnacha & 30% merlot sourced from the winery's own Finca La Sarda. After some 30 days maceration the wine is nurtured for 16 months in oak barrels (70% French 30% American), resting another year in the bottle cellar before release.

Dark cherry red color, a little tight at first but opened up nicely with a bit of air. Toasted notes blend well with plum & blackberry fruit, chocolate and spice.
Serious tannins go down well with mature fruit (plum/black currant) and a touch of spice. Lingers long on the palate. An excellent bottle of wine with substance to hold up well in the cellar.

Hacienda Logos forms part of the Familia Escudero group of wineries.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
