Wine of the Week

Cune Crianza 2020 [Red]
Producer: C.V.N.E.
Region: DOC Rioja

85% tempranillo, 15% garnacha & mazuelo harvested in the Rioja Alta sub-region, September and early October. Nurtured 12 months in American oak barrels (average age 6 years).

Cherry/blueberry/plum fruit, subtle spice (vanilla/clove) and background notes of toasted oak.
Medium weight with a refined tannic grip, ripe fruit, clean with decent length and an attractive finish. A Rioja classic, nice wine, good value.

Note: Seemed a little thin/tight at first, but opened up nicely after a few minutes in the glass. Good food wine.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
