Marqués de Murrieta Reserva 2005 [Red]
Producer: Marqués de Murrieta
Region: DOC Rioja

86% tempranillo, 8% garnacha, 4% mazuelo, 2% graciano grown in the Finca Ygay estate, nurtured for 18 months in 225 liter American oak barrels, resting another 24 months in bottle before release.

A classic Rioja with ripe berries (blueberry/blackberry), tarragon/anise, aromas of lengthy evolution in barrel & bottle: leather, spice & beef jerky.
Medium body, still fresh & lively. Elegant, full of flavor, refined texture and a lengthy finish. Outstanding stuff, should show well for some years to come.

2005 was a top Rioja vintage, this Murrieta shows why. If you can track down a bottle, don't hesitate.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
