Wine of the Week

La Bota 121 Palo Cortado 2010 [Fortified]
Producer: Equipo Navazos
Region: DO Jerez-Xéres-Sherry, Manzanilla

100% palomino fino from the Pago Miraflores La Baja vineyard in Sanlúcar de Barrameda. Nurtured in sherry butts & 225 liter barrels. A single vineyard Palo Cortado and one vintage (2010), a rarity for sure.

Elegant & delicate nose with impressive complexity and depth: almonds & dry herbs, a minimal touch of "flor" and the classic seaside saline/mineral feel of Sanlúcar.
A delight on the palate, multifaceted & fresh with nicely integrated alcohol. Impressive stuff, a magnificent wine.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
