Quercus
Wine of the Week

Quercus 1999 [Red]
Producer: Bodegas Fontana
Region:

Quercus is not a registered DO La Mancha label, but it is the special reserve wine from a quality La Mancha producer. Made from a selection of the property's best Tempranillo grapes, this is essentially an estate wine - and a very good one at that. Powerful and elegant, it's ready to drink and should work well with most meat dishes.

Good dark cherry red color. Aromas show ripe berry fruit [cherry/blackberry] with a touch of spice, vanilla and licorice. The palate's smooth and polished with clean ripe fruit, well integrated wood and good length.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
