Valsacro
Wine of the Week

Valsacro 1999 [Red]
Producer: Bodegas Valsacro
Region: DOC Rioja

The recently released 1999 Valsacro is yet another indication of the positive evolution of this Rioja producer [first release 1997]. Less voluptuous that the '97, more elegant and refined with the fruit, body and structure to cellar well. A good match for prime rib.

Dark garnet red color. Nose shows cherries and red berry fruit, along with clean oak, fresh cut hay and floral tones. Rich balanced palate; very tasty with smooth tannins and loads of mature berry fruit.Excellent.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
