Rodrejo
Wine of the Week

Rodrejo 2001 [Rosé]
Producer: Bodegas Huertas
Region: DO Jumilla

In recent years, wines from Jumilla in southeastern Spain have been getting a fair amount of press; and a taste of this bright, fresh, fruity rosé shows why experts have long praised the potential of the local Monastrell [Mourvèdre] grape for both young and barrel-aged wines. Brilliant wine for a summer meal in the backyard.

Bright strawberry pink color. Pure fruit nose with fresh strawberries & cherries. Crisp dry palate with good body for a rosé and loads of juicy red-berry fruit. Very good, excellent value.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
