Wine of the Week

Paco García Seis 2020 [Red]
Producer: Bodegas Paco García
Region: DOC Rioja

100% tempranillo from the Paraje del Seis vineyard (15 years) growing on sandy-clay soils. Grapes chilled before fermentation, nurtured 6 months in French oak barrels.

Blueberry & raspberry aromas with some background herbaceous notes (fennel), flowers (violet/elderflower) and a touch of chocolate and spice.
Straightforeward berry fruit (blueberry/blackberry/cherry) with a trace of spice & toast. The oak is barely present, balanced out by the fruit. Not hugely complex but most satisfying, great on the table. Very good.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
