Wine of the Week

Petit Forlong 2020 [Red]
Producer: Bodegas Forlong
Region: Vinos de España

60% syrah, 30% merlot, 10% tintilla de Rota (graciano), fermentation & malolactic in "tinajas" (large clay vessels), nurtured 6 months in French oak barrels.

Clean/fresh with red berry fruit (wild strawberries), spice (clove/cinnamon), floral notes and a hint of chocolate
Fruit & flowers where steely acidity and terse tannins provide backbone, tension and lively freshness. Serious, enjoyable stuff. Very good now and should develop well in bottle. Great value to boot.

Enjoyed this wine from Cádiz (El Puerto de Santa María) with an excellent meal at Comparte Bistró, Madrid.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
