José Pariente Verdejo FB 2018 [White]
Producer: Bodegas José Pariente
Region: DO Rueda

100% verdejo, organically grown; fermented in French oak barrels (225 & 500 liters), resting 10 months on the lees with "batonnage" (stirring the lees).

Some upfront oak at first whiff which soon merges into the background: toast, cinnamon, citrus, orange peel, green apple and herbs (fennel).
Over time more aromas and flavors emerge: lemon zest, chocolate truffles, bay leaf, pears and quince. Fresh & bright with a lasting finish. A very good verdejo that's evolved nicely in bottle.

José Pariente is a class Rueda producer and one of my personal favorites.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
