Albariño
Wine of the Week

Albariño Gundián 2021 [White]
Producer: Adegas Valdés
Region: DO RÍas Baixas

100% albariño, estate grown on decomposed granite & alluvial soils in the Ribeira do Ulla sub-zone. Rested on the lees for two months before bottling.

Citrus (lemon), herbs (tarragon/fennel), apricots & pears, flowers (honeysuckle) and a touch of stony minerals in the background.
Full of flavor with sweet stone fruit balanced out by crisp acidity and fresh herbs with a lasting aftertaste. An excellent albariño.

The Ribeira do Ulla, located inland close to Santiago de Compostela, is the newest & smallest of the five Rías Baixas sub-zones.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
