Wine of the Week

Finca Río Negro 992 2019 [Red]
Producer: Finca Río Negro
Region: Vino de la tierra

85% tempranillo, 11% syrah, 3% merlot, 2% cabernet sauvignon grown on the winery's own vineyards, planted at 992 meters above sea level. Nurtured 7 months in a mix of American (60%) and French (40%) oak barrels.

Blueberries, blackberries & plums dominate the nose, with a touch of vanilla/cinnamon and upland herbs (thyme/marjoram).
Medium body, juicy well ripened fruit, nicely balanced with bright, fresh acidity and excellent persistence. A very good wine, terrific value.

Finca Río Negro is situated in Cogolludo, province of Guadalajara, some 100 kilometers from Madrid, bordering Sierra Norte de Guadalajara Natural Park. The wines are bottled as Vino de la Tierra de Castilla.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
