El Perro Verde 2020 [White]
Producer: Uvas Felices
Region: DO Rueda

100% verdejo grapes grown on rocky limestone soils in vineyards around the villages of Pozaldez and Rodilana.

Clean, fresh, herbaceous (grass/hay/flowers) with kiwi fruit, apricot, gooseberry and a hint of orange zest.
Dry and mineral palate with none of the cloying sweetness sometimes present in Ruedas; a touch of orange peel, with kiwi and fennel. Nice balance, easy to drink, pleasure in a glass at a modest price. Very good.

Rueda verdejos have practically taken over the white wine by the glass market here in Spain. This wine shows why: great on its own and works well on the table with a wide range of dishes (fish, poultry, pasta and even spicy fare).

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
