Wine of the Week

Preludio 2018 [Red]
Producer: Sei Solo
Region: DO Ribera del Duero

100% tempranillo grapes from 60-90 year old vines around the village of La Horra (Burgos). Cold maceration on the skins, fermented in stainless & wooden vats, nurtured 18-20 months in a mix of 600 & 228 liter French oak barrels.

Upfront spice & fruit aromas: ripe berries, vanilla/cinnamon, licorice and a gentle hint of toasted oak.
Rich ripe fruit, super smooth tannins, silky mouthfeel with blueberries, chocolate, spice and a nice long finish. Not your usual Ribera del Duero, it's an outstanding wine with personality & class.

Sei Solo is Javier Zaccagnini's third winery project. After successes with joint ventures at Aalto & Ossian, he and son Michael started this on their own in 2007.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
