Torelló
Wine of the Week

Torelló Brut Nature [Sparkling]
Producer: Torelló Viticultors
Region: Corpinnat

47% xarel.lo, 23% macabeo, 20% parellada from Torelló's Can Martí vineyard. Nurtured 50 months on the lees before disgorging.

Pleasingly complex nose shows flowers, dry grasses, almonds, bakers yeast, pear/apple/kiwi fruit with a hint of apricot.
Fine bubbles, creamy on the palate, persistent, with pears, dry flowers, brioche and a touch of almonds on the finish. Bright & refreshing with balanced acidity. A serious bubbly.

The Corpinnat denomination is relatively new to the Spanish wine scene. A group of producers broke away from the DO Cava to establish a new, terroir-driven concept for quality sparkling wine in Catalonia.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
