Wine of the Week

Dehesa del Carrizal MV 2018 [Red]
Producer: Dehesa del Carrizal
Region: Vino de Pago

MV stand for multiple varieties: syrah, tempranillo, merlot & cabernet sauvignon from vines 20+ years old with a short stay in wood: 4-8 months in French oak barrels.

Fresh, dark berry fruit up front with just a touch of oak (spice & toast) in the background.
Clean and lively on the palate, smooth/polished tannins, tasty fruit (blueberry/plum) with a gently spicy finish.
Easy drinking, great value. Very good.

Dehesa del Carrizal, situated in the Montes de Toledo area of La Mancha, is one of Spain's 20 Vinos de Pago, individual estates with their own DO (denomination of origin).

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
