Wine of the Week

José Pariente Sauvignon 2020 [White]
Producer: Bodegas José Pariente
Region: DO Rueda

100% sauvignon blanc, grown on gravel/limestone soils from some the oldest sauvignon vines in Rueda (40+ years), nurtured for 4 months on the lees in steel tanks.

Classic sauvignon aromas: herbal/grassy with a hint of dill along with citrus/kiwi fruit, and a touch of boxwood & tarragon.
Smooth & clean on the palate with fresh herbs, pears & kiwi fruit. A pleasure to drink, pure sauvignon blanc, no rough edges, balanced & persistent. Excellent.

José Pariente is a class producer in Rueda, one of the region's finest (IMO of course).

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
