Tres
Wine of the Week

Tres Patas 2016 [Red]
Producer: Bodegas Canopy
Region: DO Méntrida

100% old vines garnacha (65+ years old), planted on granite based soils in the Gredos foothills. Nurtured in large (500/600 liter) French oak barrels for 12 months.

Lots of color here with berry fruit aromas (blue, black & straw), plums as well; followed by a second layer of brushy "garrigue" aromas (thyme/rosemary), black pepper and a touch of rose petals.
Serious berry fruit flavors, deep, rich with hefty but controlled tannins, good balance and excellent persistence. Good stuff!

This wine always shows well, and will work well with hearty fare: steaks, BBQ, game, stews, you name it.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
