Tiza
Wine of the Week

Tiza 2020 [Red]
Producer: Bodegas Campos Reales
Region: DO La Mancha

100% tempranillo, temperature controlled fermentation & maceration on the skins. Stored in large stainless steel tanks before bottling.

This wine is all about fruit: blackberry, blueberry, red currants... with a touch of minerals & fennel in the background.
Ripe juicy fruit on the palate, fresh & clean, balanced acidity, mountain herbs (thyme/bay leaf), river stones and bit of minty/chocolate. Savory tannins, good persistence. Very good, terrific value.

A recent arrival to the US market and an excellent example of what La Mancha & the tempranillo grape all about. Tiza means chalk, the vines thrive on the winery's chalk & limestone soils.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
