José Pariente Verdejo 2019 [White]
Producer: Bodegas José Pariente
Region: DO Rueda

100% verdejo grapes, primarily from 30 year old vineyards, plus grapes from older vines. Fermented in a mix of stainless steel and wooden vats, finally steeped on the lees for 4 months before bottling.

Fruit & grassy/minty aromas predominate: kiwi, apricot, tarragon, lemongrass, lime/grapefruit and a touch of stony minerality.
Serious stuff, rich on the palate with body & flavor: stone fruits, citrus and minerals. Well balanced, persistent with a fresh/bitterish verdejo finish. Excellent.

This basic Rueda Verdejo shows why José Pariente rates as one of Rueda's top producers. This is an excellent all purpose white wine that drinks well on its own, and pairs nicely with a broad range of dishes.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
