Wine of the Week

Fulget Cuvée 2019 [White]
Producer: Maior de Mendoza
Region: DO RÍas Baixas

100% albariño, Valle de Salnés area, trellised vines on granite soils not far from the Atlantic Ocean. Cold maceration (5 hours) before fermenting, low temperature fermentation.

Medium intensity nose with stone fruit (apricot), pear, citrus, bay leaf & dry grass.
Just a bit off-dry on the palate, mellow with apricot, quince, dry flowers/hay, lemon/lime and a seaside saline/mineral finish. Very good.

A slightly diferent take on albariño - off-dry, mellow and food friendly. Drink now.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
