Wine of the Week

Rubus Proprietary Red Reserve 2016 [Red]
Producer: Coop Niño Jesús
Region: DO Calatayud

A blend of mainly garnacha (90%) with syrah (10%). A small part of the wine sees some oak in the winemaking process.

Serious fruit on the nose: red (strawberry/raspberry) and dark (blackberry) which combine nicely with dry flowers and a hint of mountain herbs & spice. Medium bodied and easy on the palate, smooth and a pleasure to drink. Excellent value.

This is one of the selected wines of the Kysela private label Rubus Project. Here the wines are all about fruit & value, and this proves it.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
