Fefiñanes
Wine of the Week

Fefiñanes Albariño 1583 2016 [White]
Producer: Palacio de Fefiñanes
Region: DO RÍas Baixas

Fefiñanes was an early pioneer in oak-ageing Albariños. Initially, the wines were pretty oaky, but nowadays the wood elements are nicely integrated, subtle and make for enhanced complexity and a longer life.

A lovely, subtly complex nose with stony/mossy background, a layer of apple pie aromas, a hint of nutmeg & forest ferns. Smooth and fresh on the palate with apples, a gentle hint of oak (nutmeg/coconut) and a pleasant mineral touch to the finish. An excellent wine.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
