Wine of the Week

Finca Las Tablas 2016 [White]
Producer: Maior de Mendoza
Region: DO RÍas Baixas

A single vineyard albariño from a hillside "finca" planted in 1976 on granite-based soils. Six months on the lees in French oak.

Still seems quite young: pale straw color, lean & fresh with serious acidity, apricots, floral notes, stony minerality. Crisp, sharp, citrusy on the palate, stone fruit, good length. Excellent.

Tasted it about a year ago, and again this week. It's changed very little, and the oak is nowhere to be seen. Serious stuff.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
