Coma d'en Pou 2010 [Red]
Producer: Bàrbara Forés
Region: DO Terra Alta

This wine has long been one of my favorites and this 2010 version is especially good. A blend of Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot, aged 14 months in French oak. A potent, yet balanced wine; good on its own or with a hearty meal.

Medium dark red color, bright & clean. Nice aromatics: ripe berry fruit and dry herb/brushy spice with an underlying floral scent (violets). A hearty, yet balanced palate with nicely integrated oak and not at all "hot", despite the 15% ABV. Excellent.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
