Wine of the Week

Chatel Brut [Sparkling]
Producer: Pinord
Region: DO Cava

The holiday season's always a good time to thing sparkling wine. That said, this Cava from Pinord is good all year around; and will work well as an aperitif or with food. Try this with your next round of spicy Asian fare. Made from the three classic cava grapes: Xarel.lo, Parellada & Macabeo.

Light pale straw color with nice consistent bubbles. Clean, fresh and citrusy on nose & palate with green apples, pears, fresh cut hay, and a touch of honey. The bubbles offer a nice creamy mouth feel that lasts and lasts.

A note to our readers:
I've used SRP, which is the normal price in Spain expressed in US dollars [Low=$5-9, Medium=$10-18, High=$19+]. The wines selected are usually moderately priced and generally exported around the world. Some exceptions happen...
