! Prize Winning Wines

It doesn't hurt to have a bit of help when selecting new wines. Each year Spanish wines take home important prizes - both here in Spain and around the world. As the data comes in, we'll publish it in the news section first, then transfer it here to have a sort of reference data base of award winning wines from Spain.

28 Apr 1998

Last night "Sibaritas" magazine's presented one of the country's most prestigious awards for Spanish wines. The selection is the "critics' choice" - led by José Peñín, noted wine critic and the magazine's editor, 30 odd wine critics and journalists form a panel and award three prizes: the previous year's very best wine, best winery and top new wine.

Here's the list:
And the finalists:

White

Reds
During and after the presentation of the awards, the press and other invitees got a chance to sample the winning wines and many of the runners-up as well. It is an excellent selection and the names here are a worthwhile addition to any wine cellar.
